23 Dec 08 - I went to the nursery getting the Puzzle Painting's participants to refine their own puzzle. Finished touching-up with crayons, getting them signing their names and the last thing to do was to apply a thin layer of clear spray. Some of them insisted this to be on the net, so here it is (click to enlarge):

Designing Life:
23 & 24 Dec 08 - The participants are getting impatient...but hey, the gate is almost done. Here are some shots:

Like the idea of this workshop too. :D kudos!
what do you mean the participant is getting impatient?
Anyway this project is a fruitful one. Shows great determination by the organizers and innovation by the kids.. ^^.
A round of applause for both party!! ^^.
Hi there,
well, the puzzle was mostly done by the participants, we only gave advice and suggestion on how to make it better.
While for the gate, the participants who are around 10-12 year-old got tired and impatient after few days of consecutive painting. Predictably, we joined in and sped up the work process and did refinement for them.
They found it difficult to handle such a task that last for more than one week. But at least they have tried and experienced the whole process of adding values to things around. I suppose the learning process worth more than the result.
Do check out the entire 'Designing Life' workshop here. They produced some wonderful works earlier through some preliminary exercises before painting the gate.
...and thanks!
Hi Chik Ying,
The structure of the gate is a challenge during the brain-storming. I conducted a one-day workshop on pattern by then and encouraged them to apply patterns onto the gate since patterns are simple, symbolic. It developed from there.
PS: There are some insects there too. 8)
...butterly fly, ladily bird {:O
ellooo... i thought the design was really awesome and unique. =)
and it looks really well done!
